Sedgwick County, KS in 1865 to 1880 at this open-air, living history museum. The 17 acre attraction contains a residential area, business district, industrial area, railroad and farm. School programs are available.
The Kansas Aviation Museum exhibits many planes from different time periods. The museum also features a control tower and a vast array of photographs and documents.
This transportation museum contains exhibits that stress the importance of
railroad transportation in all aspects of life for the Wichita and Great Plains area. Displays include a steam locomotive, cabooses, and some indoor displays. Group tours may be arranged.
Intriguing collections from the ancient world, including 10 authentic dinosaurs a great Egyptian collection including 2 mummies of high nobility, Roman and Greek artifacts, Medieval weapons, and many other valuable treasures of antiquity. Large displays of American history including Civil wr, WW I & II, and autographs of all 43 US Presidents. New Sports Hall of Fame, and Wild West exhibits.
The Mid-American All-Indian Center features a museum that showcases traditional artifacts as well as contemporary pieces of art. The center also houses a Kiva, a ceremonial space, that hosts many different types of functions.
The Lake Afton Observatory allows visitors to gaze at the stars and planets through their telescope, and also houses a museum with interactive exhibits.
